Land Use and Planning Context

 

Although the area selected for this site is small in comparison to the size of the Rideau Canal, the area still contains many different zoning by-laws that dictate development within this area, from Parks and Open Space to Minor Institutional Zone. It is important to note that these are only the municipal by-laws, and there are other government bodies that have a say on the development that occurs along this area including: the National Capital Commission, and Parks Canada.
